BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF TRANSFORMER TERMINAL

BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF TRANSFORMER TERMINAL

Transformer terminal is a new type of terminal, which has been widely used in large transformer and other equipment in electrical and electronic industry. The transformer terminals can be quickly and conveniently installed on 2 X10mm guide rail.

Cause of Transformer Terminal Blackening

If the surface of the transformer terminal becomes black, it is not necessarily caused by the short circuit, it is also possible that it is oxidized thus black. How should we determine why the transformer terminal becomes black? You can wipe the surface of the transformer terminal with your finger, if the black material on its surface can be erased like ash, which proves that the black material is due to the oxidation of the terminal to produce. These black materials require sandpaper or a file to remove them completely. If the black material can not be wiped off with the finger, this means that the transformer terminal is burned by the short circuit. It is worth noting that when the terminal is charged, do not touch it with your fingers.

The plastic insulation material and the conductive components of the terminals are directly related to the quality of the terminals, which determine the insulating property and conductivity of the terminals, respectively. Failure of any terminal will lead to the failure of the whole system. Therefore, the conductive components of the terminal must be on and the reliability of the connection must be guaranteed. The insulation part of the terminal must not conduct electricity.

Three Common Failures of Transformer Terminals

1. Poor terminal contact: The metal conductor inside the terminal is the core part of the terminal, which transmits the voltage, current or signal from the external wire or cable to the contact part corresponding to the connector to which it is matched. Therefore, the contact must have excellent structure, stable contact and good electrical conductivity. The structure of the contacts is unreasonable, the mold is unstable, the processing technology is poor and other reasons will affect the performance of the contact parts.

2. Poor insulation material: The function of the insulator is to make the contacts arranged correctly and to insulate each other between the contacts and the contacts and between the contacts and the shell. Therefore, the insulator must have excellent electrical, mechanical and process molding properties. With the wide use of high density and miniaturized terminals, insulators become thinner and thinner, which puts forward more demanding requirements for insulating materials, mould precision and molding process.

3. Poor fixing of terminals: Insulators not only act as insulation, but usually also provide protection for contact parts. At the same time, the insulator allows the terminals to be installed and fixed on the equipment. If the terminals are not firmly fixed on the equipment, it may cause the terminals to be instantly cut off, or even damage the equipment. The design, material, processing technology, installation and so on will affect the terminal fixing. In addition, coating shedding, corrosion, rupture and deformation will also affect the performance of the terminal. The above three common faults can be found in time during inspection and use.
