Progressive die design for terminal blocks


Push-wire terminals are components on the micro stepper motor that are used to connect external power sources to transmit pulsed electrical signals. The manufacture of terminal blocks-generally requires several different operations, such as bending, squashing, cutting, etc., because their diameters are small, it is difficult to manufacture them. In large enterprises or large-volume production enterprises, the bending and cutting work of the terminal is generally completed automatically by a mold with a PLC control device. The bending angle, flattening degree, and cutting length can be measured by sensors as well as the controls. In small enterprises, due to the small production scale, many seeds, and small batches, if automatic control molds are still used, it will inevitably increase production costs and affect the production efficiency of enterprises. Mold structure design


Different mold structures use different design patterns. It is mainly designed to ensure that the terminal has a sufficient bending angle in the manufacturing process, a reasonable flattening degree, a smooth transfer process, and accurate bending length. A complete mold is mostly composed of various functional parts, and is mostly positioned and fastened by pins and screws. Below I will introduce several different parts. The guide post plays a guiding role in the process of flattening and cutting; the upper fixing plate is a component that fixes and connects the front and rear baffles and the left and right support blocks; the bracket mainly positions and guides the feeding of the wire; After the wire is sent to a specified length, the wire is compressed to ensure that the wire does not slip during bending, flattening, and cutting; the block not only supports the wire but also serves as a terminal. The lower cutting edge cuts off the terminal together with the punch; the lower fixing plate plays a role of positioning and fixing the parts in the mold, and is also used to fix the mold on the work surface of a small press; concave The die is both a bending die and a flattening die; the male die and the female die work together to complete the flattening of the terminal; in addition, the bending male die and the female die work together to complete the bending of the terminal ; The limit block is mainly used to limit the length of the wire. At the same time, its lower end is the outlet of the finished terminal block.



Working process of mold

Before the operation, the handle of the small press presses the die handle, the bending punch, the flattening and cutting off the punch, and the pressure plate to the upper limit under the action of the handle torsion spring. When the left hand sends the wire to the designated position, use the right hand to turn the handle counterclockwise to drive the die handle downward to loosen the pressure plate. The flattening and cutting punches are moved downward by the spring to hold down the wire, and at the same time, the bending punches are moved downward, which further drives the flattening and cutting punches to move together to complete different actions.
